Nancy J. Thorn

Clyde—Nancy J. Thorn, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5 PM on January 11, 2026, at Stone 8 Tap House, 10257 NY-31 in Clyde. Burial will be in S. Lyons Cemetery.

Memorials in her name can be made to either Meals on Wheels, 150Van Buren St., Newark, NY 14513 or to the Clyde Fire Department, 15 Ford St., Clyde, NY 14433.

Nancy was born on Nov. 14, 1936, in Geneva, the daughter of the late William and Jane Ross Sheehan. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1954. For over forty years she worked at NYSEG in the Customer Service Dept. With her husband Bruce she helped run Thorn Farms. When her children were young, she was a dedicated Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed collecting Hummels. gardening, clothes shopping and dancing were some of her favorite pastimes.

Mrs. Thorn is survived by three sons Daniel (Judy Abbott), Richard (Tracy) and Ronald (Amy) Thorn; eight grandchildren Joshua Thorn, Danielle (Tim) Parrish, Trish Lauster, Sarah Jankowiak, Andrew (Jessica VanFleet) Thorn, Ariel (Mitchell) Penny, Wyatt (Paige) Thorn and Spencer (Abby) Thorn; eleven great grandchildren; her longtime companion Jerry Addley; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce in 2006; brothers Robert, William and John Sheehan.
