Robert “Bob” Grier, 73, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, in Clyde, New York.
Born on March 28, 1952, in Ft. Pierce, Florida, Bob was a proud graduate of Clyde-Savannah High School, Class of 1971. A gifted athlete, he earned numerous local and state honors as a football running back. His talents on the field led him to Hudson Valley Community College and later to Shippensburg University, where he continued playing football and earned a degree in Regional Planning. He went on to complete a master’s degree in Planning at Penn State University. Later in life, Bob returned to school at Wilson College and began a second career as a Middle School Science teacher.
Bob is survived by his three beloved children: Jessica Grier, Rob Grier, and Ellen (Jeremy) Kilchenstein; his cherished granddaughter, Ophelia; and his siblings: Lee Seabrook, Barbara Grier, Betty (Toussaint) Morgan, John Grier, and Linda Grier. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Galvester and Mae Oler Grier, and his siblings, Benita Grier and David Seabrook.
An avid fisherman, woodworker, and guitar player, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life—and never missed a Dallas Cowboys game. He will be deeply missed.
